Flying in/over Indonesia
Indonesia is a vast country. Any foreign registered aircraft that flies over or into Indonesian FIR has to obtain a flight clearance/permit prior to entering. The last few years, we have seen foreign aircrafts without clearance intercepted by Indonesian Air Force fighters and forced down. The aircrafts were withheld, crew were detained and the operators were fined. If in doubt, please consult us. Our two cents.
The most famous place of Indonesia is not the capital city, Jakarta, but the Island of the Gods, Bali, with its provincial capital city called Denpasar. Over the decades, it has been the ultimate destination for holiday makers from all over the world. It just gets better and better with more facilities being provided to cater to the growing ultra high networth tourists, such as finer hotels and a GAT (general aviation terminal) that caters exclusively to private aircrafts. With around fifteen parking bays available for private aircrafts, parking is the least thing one needs to think of.

Forty five minutes away from Bali by flight, another very popular destination awaits you. The Dragon Island or widely known as Komodo Island, is gaining more grounds as enormous marketing efforts have been put in by the Indonesian government as well as others, including the nomination of the island as one of the world wonders. The nearest airport to reach Komodo Island is to fly to Labuan Bajo (WATO), the recently expanded airport. Currently a domestic airport, it is expected that Indonesian DGCA would soon upgrade the airport to an international getaway.
Pristine. Natural. Indigeneous. Untouched. Breathtaking. Those are some words closely associated with Raja Ampat, the latest jewel of Indonesian Toursim Board has to offer. Purposedly set by the Indonesian government to preserve its beauty and nature, Raja Ampat is not meant for mass tourism. Nearest access to Raja Ampat is to land in Sorong Airport (WASS). Currently a domestic airport, private aircrafts are suggested to land and clear CIQ in Manado (WAMM) then continue flying to Sorong. Repeat the same route on the way out or feel free to clear CIQ in another international airport.
Danau or Lake Toba is the largest volcanic lake in Indonesia, second largest lake in the world after Lake Victoria in Africa. It is also a very deep lake at 450m depth. Indonesian Tourism Board, as instructed by the President of Republic of Indonesia, is putting an enormous amount of resources and funds to make Lake Toba a better tourist destination, with much improved facilities. Kuala Namu International Airport (WIMM), a new airport open in mid 2013, is where you fly into when visiting Lake Toba. Alternatively, you can fly into Silangit Domestic Airport (WIMN), a newly open airport too but please clear CIQ in WIMM or another nearby airport.
